Education News is aimed specifically at meeting the information needs of parents. Broadcast on the third Tuesday of each month during the traditional school year (September through June) to a far-reaching combination of cable and satellite networks, public access stations, school channels, and PBS stations, the program brings the Department of Education's message directly into families' homes and provides them with practical tips and resources to help them strengthen their child's education. Featuring a fast-paced and segmented format, a live audience, and viewer call-ins, the monthly program is broadcast live from PBS Member Station WETA (the DC metro area flagship PBS affiliate). Each edition helps explain No Child Left Behind to parents and presents practical, plain-language discussions of timely educational topics such as keeping students safe, math and science education, teacher quality, and American competitiveness.
We are honored to be nationally chosen as an early childhood center of excellence that is making a difference.
